Brockenhurst Choir is a lively amateur mixed choir of over 80 voices, which meets regularly each week on a Tuesday evening, to rehearse for two annual concerts in May and December. Professional soloists and orchestra join with the choir for performances.
The choir was formed in 1964. Since then there have been four chief conductors, and the choir is now under the direction of Miriam Newton, who was appointed in May 2010. Recent concerts have included performances of: A Sea Symphony, Bach Mass in B minor, Mozart Requiem, Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle, Haydn The Creation and Goodall Requiem ‘Eternal Light’.

2018 VAUGHAN WILLIAMS: A Sea Symphony
Joanna Tomlinson conducts the Constanza Choir, the Farnham Youth Choirs and the East London Chorus. She also works with some of the UK’s top choruses including London Symphony Chorus, Manchester Chamber Choir and the Royal College of Music Choir.
2016 POULENC: Gloria
Benjamin is Director of Chapel Music at Somerville College, Oxford. He is musical director of the award-winning Bath Camerata, the Lea Singers chamber choir, Henley Choral Society and Youth Choirs. Benjamin is chorus master at Dorset Opera Festival, and in 2017 he makes his debut as chorus master at the Netherlands Reisopera.
